Who is the most famous female techie blogger?

Who is the most famous female programmer, or female in IT?  Who is the most famous female techie blogger?

I have been thinking, who really out of all the techie females in the world is the most famous of us all?  I know for one that it isn’t me.  (Although sometimes I do wish it could be.)

What is it that makes bloggers famous?  How do the likes of Robert Scoble and Co. get themselves heard louder than anyone else?  What is it that makes them more marketable?  Is it the fact that they have access to Microsoft and related resources, or is it that these people spend all their time being heard and not actually doing anything?

Let me know your views, I’m interested!

London wins 2012

Well done to the 2012 team for winning the Olympic bid!!!  They fought valiantly right up until the last moment for this and their persistance and hard work won it!!! This is an excellent start for things to come.

More information on the events of today can be found on the BBC website

Althought many people don't like the idea of the games being in London or even in the UK, the general concensus in our office here is that it is a good thing.  There was a big cheer when we all found out here!  Genuine delight was shown, even by the sceptics.

So the next step for the people of the UK is to fully support the bid now and to ensure that it is a huge success.  We want to show the rest of the world just what we can do when we put our hearts, effort and support into this!  It can and will be done!

2012 here we come!

And I believe now it is time for me to do some training and see if there is anything I can to to help get those gold medals up for England!!!

Awaiting the IOC results for 2012

Well I am getting all excited.  The bid results for the 2012 Olympic Games are due out today at 12:46pm (BST)  I have my fingers and toes crossed for London to get it!   It would be a great honour and so very exciting to host this event.  I was in Manchester for the 2000 Commonwealth Games and have seen first hand just how much of a positive impact such events have on a city.  I offer nothing but my complete support for this bid and I hope that we manage to persuade the IOC members that London is the place to have this event.

Like France we have also placed 2 previous bids with Manchester as the host city, however this time we have gone one better and put London forward as the venue.  France has put Paris forward twice previously and both times they have been looked over in favour of better locations and bids.  Although they are suggested as favourites, I would be quite surprised if Paris has altered their bid significantly enough based on feedback of the previous two bids to win this one.

This is the bid that could just manage to get our Olympic hopefuls all motivated to make 2012 the year that England beat America and Australia at events that they tend to dominate such as swimming and track & field events!!!! J

Good luck to the London 2012 bid!!!
