I installed the above hotfix along with a number of others and ever since I have had chaos and hassle accessing our network file share on our Windows CE 4.2 devices. I thought that it was my computer at first. Then a colleague on Win 98 tried accessing it and that was fine. We tried a different XP pc with SP2 and all hotfixes and no other software and this had the same problem as mine. We then got another pc with no hotfixes but has XP with SP2 on it and nothing else and this worked fine….
Next stage… I went through the hotfixes one by one and then removed the suspicious ones… Each time I removed on I tested to see if the problem had been fixed and lo and behold with 885250 removed the network file share worked well again.
I’m really not looking forward to the next installation of hotfixes on Wednesday now… what else is it going to break?
