Amex: 341-1111-1111-1111

Discover: 6011-6011-6011-6611

Credit Card Prefix Numbers:

Visa: 13 or 16 numbers starting with 4

MasterCard: 16 numbers starting with 5

Discover: 16 numbers starting with 6011

AMEX: 15 numbers starting with 34 or 37

If you are testing with Authorize.net than they have some dummy numbers that will return true, for testing purpose.

The point of those numbers above isn't to generate a valid number explicitly for the use of testing. It's so if you are making an application which requires credit card use or credit card transactions, that you can simulate the transaction with a dummy card.

There really is no point in any of you having a valid card with a CVC and expiration etc unless you are going to steal it. If you were truly going to test out an application and absolutely required a valid credit card (which seems dauntingly unlikely) then you would just use your own.
