Importing VS2005 projects into Visual Studio 2008

Installed Visual Studio 2008 yesterday and it so far it seems to reach my expectations. Im looking forward to playing with all these new things; LINQ, anonymous types etc. However I got really dazzled to why my imported .NET 2.0 projects from Visual Studio 2005 behaved REALLY slow in 2008. I could hardly edit any code and loading the designer took forever. By re-creating the project from scratch and import the old files it now works as usual.

Perhaps anyone knows the cause of this behavior?

I never suffered this problem you're describing.
I literally just created a new solution file, then added the existing projects that we're working on.
That way i can work in the new vs2008 environment, and colleagues that havent upgraded yet can continue to use the old solution.
The project file also gets upgraded, but vs2005 still recognises it.

Hey mark you can do this even easier, you copy the sln file from 05 and 1) open in 08 run the little wizard and upgrade the sln file or 2) open the copied sln in notepad and change the 9.0 to 10.0 at the top (that's what the wizard does) and then you can open it in 08. this way you don't need to re-add project files. Some sln are massive and it would take to long to re-add them all.
