I think the people who signed up earlier get it later. I don't get the ideology but it seems like that's what is happening. I think it's partly dependent on the country too.

lol - great rant, but on the other hand if you want to get the best service in the world from a FREE service then you need a reality check irrispective of what other providers offer.. that is after all the beauty of competition and if you are sooo unhappy then you should probably bite the bullet and get a gmail account OR setup your own if is it so pivotal to your existance..

i just got my 250 mb... and i opened my account ages ago, around 96... The trick is that you have to change the country you're from, i had mexico and switched to u.s. voila! 4 days later i had it upgraded. Maybe because you update your data and they have to "refresh" your account, and the changes take effect.... who the hell knows... i'm just happy with my 250

I just hope is not for u.s. only... **eye-rolling**

Hotmail sucks ass but I don't feel like changing.
I have gmail too, but they invade my privates and I don't like strangers who do that!!!

All my fucking friends/colleauges/professors/etc. had my hotmail address, but I switched to gmail and they seemed to fucking take it just fucking fine.

But if all your fucking friends/colleauges/professors are as screwed up over fucking emails as you are, I can certainly see you having a fucking problem.

oh and janam, you'll get 250Mb after using hotmail for 30 days (assuming you're on 25Mb at the momment).

Good Rant AM. That felt great. Not the only person suffering with lots of hype and cheesy service.
I'd settle for less MB and more reliability.
Twice in the last two weeks, when i really needed Hotmail....
No dice.
Have already opened parallel Yahoo! and making the switch.
By the way, as a personal habit, i never use any addressbook offered with any service and always keep the inbox completely clean. Not an Outlook user either...Keeping it simple and straightforward. Been burned enough to know the information highway has a lot of dark alleys...

dude there's a way to get 25, if you're interested that is...

close your messenger, open www.hotmail.com, log in, go to options, click on profile, change your country to spain, your state to madrid and your zip code to 20085, click update, then click continue. Now on the adress bar write www.passport.net and press entre, on the upper part of your screen there'll be an option reading something like "user services", click on it and then click on the last option of the left column wich should be something like "close my .net passport account", click on "contact hotmail", click "close my account" again. Now write www.hotmail.com on the adress bar, log in as usual, re-activate your account by following the procedure described (accept the contract and click continue). Thassit! Thank you very much.

Those hotmail guys, i dont know why and how now got so kicked off by the fact that they can also give the 250 MB.

I was surprized to see it anyways. Still More feature like pop3 access and many more like this can also be provided.

I am not a hotmail fan but seems to be that now i dont have to care about it. (the Space).

This is For you guyz to help you to upgrade your hotmail account to 250

Increase you Hotmail account to 250 MB free



1. Sign in to your hotmail account with your user name and password

2- Go to options button from top right

3- Go to personal from left menu

4- Go to profile

5-choose country to be unite states of America

6- choose any state from the drop down menu

7- Enter the proper zip code from the list below:

California 90001 , Indiana 46001 , Florida ,Ohio 43001,New Hampshire 03031

8- choose your language to be English

9- Press ok

10- Copy and paste the following in your browser :

http://by17fd.bay17.hotmail.msn.com/cgi-bin/Accountclose

That's will deactivate your account temporary to complete the upgrade steps

9- Login again to your account and choose to reactivate it

10- select the option of free 250 MB

11- press continue on the next appeared pages

12- you will find your mail box became 25 MB first , and in few days it will become 250 MB
