First of all what is 'influence'? One meaning of the word 'influence' as defined in the dictionary is “Power to sway or affect based on prestige, wealth, ability, or position.Influential people are everywhere and in every field, some influence more than others do. People look upto influential people. I am not sure if I am 100% correct, but can be say that Robert Scoble is a influential person and helped change the way corporates look at the blogging now. Personally speaking, his way of blogging has certainly influenced me and showed me another direction and so has he for some of the people I know personally. I might still be using an alias for blogging if not for Robert Scoble which cleared some of the myths I had early in the peace when I started blogging.

So talking of influential people, I today read SteveRubel blog (nice blog Steve, now you have one more loyal reader of your blog) where he had linked to a blog which has Ed Keller's transcript from Ad:Tech. An Must to read article.

Some of my favourite lines are among the whole lot are:

“Marketers need to reach people who are in the center of the conversation. Friends, family, and other people are the leading source of ideas and information on restaurants to try, places to visit, improving your health, Web sites, and almost every single product category. If it's not number one, it's number two and coming on stronger.“

“Influentials are actively involved. But more importantly, what drives them? They take an active approach to life. They have an enthusiasm for learning. They're connected to many people and groups. They have a clear set of priorities. They have a strong belief in growth and change. These aren't people who get comfortable......“

“Influentials don't think about themselves as being influential.“

Whom do you think as influential? For me the first person I can thin is my father and then many people around me and even mother nature influences me a lot.
