I was reading Kevin Mitnick book The Art of Deception few days back when I realised the full potential of 'Social engineering' & 'social hacking' and how it can impact any business or network. In my view 'Social engineering' can have more impact than if someone hacks into your network.This attacks cannot be stopped by the strong firewall that one might have implemented on the network to secure the resources and Intelligent Property (IP) of the business.While all these thoughts are still revolving my mind I came across this article on ZDNet by Robert Vamosi titled “Why firewalls aren't always enough”.
Robert Vamosi has created a list of 10 things a company can do to precent “Social engineering” attacks. I remember even in Microsoft Security Summit in Melbourne, Jesper Johanssen pointed out some of these in his presentation.
