Today I took the chance to trial out Yahoo Desktop Search and MSN Desktop Search along with Google Desktop Search. I already had 'Lookout' and 'Blinkx' installed on my system. Yahoo Desktop Search: - I know this one is in beta, but guys make installation screens a bit better. The indexing was faster and there was simultaneous indexing done on different things i.e. email and documents and stuff ( I could see that). The things I liked about this tool was the feature of search as you type and also the...

I think I was undermining Firefox for all this while and was just neglecting and ignoring the hype around it. I was speaking of my Microsoft developer friends and engineers (they mainly use Microsoft products) and they said that around 50-60 of them have nearly abandoned Internet Explorer and now use Firefox browser for 95% of their browsing. Although I have nothing against Firefox, but still it lacks too many features that Opera has and on the other...

Although I still prefer to use IE and Opera 7.51 for my personal use, I see that many people are using Firefox and more and more people might be using it in the coming days. I found this link to a tool called Flexbeta FireTweaker XP 1.0 Beta. Below is a description of this tool from the website. “ Flexbeta FireTweaker XP 1.0 Beta Flexbeta FireTweaker XP is a tweaking and optimizing software for Mozilla Firefox. Flexbeta FireTweaker XP bundles more than 20 different tweaks to optimize or customize...

I am late to the party here, but looks like I will be using more stable versions than others did. Now as I have started using more of my Gmail account, I wanted a tool that will fetch the email into by Outlook rather than visiting everyday manually. I had heard of a tool “Pop Goes the Gmail” when I did not have a Gmail account, I finally found the tool, installed it and can now check the Gmail account from my desktop without opening “Internet Explorer” as I don't use other...
