I was stoopit over the weekend, or at least, that's how I see it.
I never, ever buy a new car if I can help it for reasons I won't list here. They are probably the same reasons you can already imagine.
Leastways, I don't *normally* buy new cars.
I bought a new Scion xD over the weekend. It's a great little car, with lots of character and even better gas mileage (a car that gets 30 MPG average definitely has tons of character IMO). I actually got to pick it off the showroom floor, which is something I've never gotten to do before. For some reason, I've always wanted to by the showroom car rather than one out on the lot.
Whilst we were doing the paperwork, a couple came in and started looking at my car. They sat in it, etc. A salesperson approached and started selling them the car...showing features, etc. I watched like a hawk to make sure they didn't hurt my car. The guy was a sort of rude; he leaned against the door, and was rough with the equipment. Sheri had to talk me down from hurting him.
However, they left for a test drive and came back to find the car gone. The look of disappointed shock on their face was...well...gratifying somehow. Call me cold and unkind, but I thought it was an overall funny situation to see the salesperson scurry about trying to figure out where the car went whilst the woman in the couple looked very dejected. Given how they leaned on my car, I felt justified in feeling that way. :-)
Anyway, the car is excellent and I have increased my gas mileage drastically. Yay me!
I say I was stoopit and I sort of was...traded the SUV and ended up increasing the remaining time on my loan from a little to whole new loan period...bought a new car instead of used....
Let us hope the car is as great at it seems to be.
