QTP: Dynamically adding to WebList
A gentleman recently posted to an old post of mine on Weblist. He asked: How do I add items to weblist? My weblist is empty and I want to add few items to it. Thanks, Durgesh First off, it seems odd to me that you'd need/want to add to items in a weblist via QTP, but hey, it's not my test, right? :-) Basically, the best way would be to use the HTML DOM to do it. Here's a a bit code to do this might look like: Dim objDoc Dim objElement Dim newNode Set objDoc = Browser("myBrowser").Page("... ......

A great movement with a cool shirt!
***EDIT: 05/14/2008 PLEASE NOTE: This post is not to be taken literally. I do not condone the mass slaughtering of cows. Cows are actually pretty cool, although somewhat boring in conversation. My post here is my attempt to express contempt of many approaches to combating "climate change" and how hypocritical many of the movement's most staunch supporters seem to be. I mean, last I checked, Al Gore is still eating meat, right? Someone reading my blog pointed out that my satire was a bit too subtle, ......

We're going to have fun, dammit, even if it makes you mad!
Recently, we had an announcement at a department meeting that made me want to pull my hair out (what little I have left) and then find the silly people who made the suggestion that prompted the announcement. The announcement? We don't have enough "fun at work" in IT. I groaned immediately, because I know what that usually means. See, morale in our department here is pretty low. Crazy hours and lots of changing priorities will do that to an IT organization. Some of the people in our department (who ......

QTP: Finally!!!
I am finally being allowed to do what I was hired to do...write automated tests. I can hardly believe it. We finally got the major project I was heading up to a point of completion that I could roll off and let someone else lead it. As a result, my boss decided now is the time to start the automation we've always wanted. I was told my time will be "50%" automation, and I know what that usually means, so let's see how it really turns out. I do know that I've done nothing but write code this week, ......

What a Croc!
I have discovered Crocs. Oh, my...what wonderful shoes. I had no idea how great they are, nor could I imagine how much I would like them. I can't really remember when I decided I wanted a pair, but recently, I got some. They support my feet, are comfortable, and not horribly expensive. I love my Birkenstocks, too, but my Berks cost a LOT more. I am honestly very surprised that I got them, given my innate dislike of all things popular in nature. I resisted the urge to get them on that basis for some ......

Everyone is expendable
Everyone is expendable Leastways everyone should think they are in a development organization. However, where I work, the developers don't think they are. There is no accountability for the developers who work on the most critical of our projects. Management is "afraid they might leave" if "too much stress is placed on them". These are the developers who: - on the most important project we've ever had, generated 313 defects while coding 900 requirements. Slightly more than 1 out of 3. - on phase ......
