Questions... Morphology? Longevity? Incept dates?
It was two years ago today that
someone suggested that I start my blog on GWB. Here I am two years later, and I am still posting on the same ol' blog. Hard to imagine sometimes that one can get so accustomed to it, but here I am.
Yay me.
Ok, with a title like that, one can be sure I am going to rant a bit. I don't do it often, but every once in a while, I feel the need. This is that "once in a while". If you don't like rants, then I suggest you ignore mine. If you read on, consider yourself warned. Normally, I am pretty patient with the whole cattle-car approach the TSA and airlines use to get us on the plane to our destination. Ultimately, I am cool with whatever we have to do to get there. I ride very docilely. I have long been ......
I've been using this for a couple of weeks now, and I must say, I like it a lot. It does a great job of refactoring/formatting SQL files. It does a bit more than that, however. I was playing with the Smart Rename function and I really like it. It allows smart renaming of DB tables, and generates a script that will do the work for you....what constraints to drop, what procs to change, etc. Pretty darn clever. For grins, I renamed the Products table in the Northwind sample db. It generated the 449 ......
Maybe heavy Metal isn't you're thing, but if it is, a good summer tour is staring soon. Ozzfest. I saw the Ozzfest in 99, and this was a great show. I've been seriously out of the loop the last few years (7 or so.....oy), but I noticed it was coming, and I've decided I want to go. Most interesting, the tickets this year are free! Now, that doesn't mean that everyone get tickets, but it does mean that people who may not be able to go due to monetary constraints can still potentially attend. I, for ......
To you die-hard Texans out there, let me say that overall I like your state very well. No really. I've not seen much of it, but what I've seen seems ok. Love the BBQ and the Shiner Bock. However, your weather really, really sucks. I am, once again, stuck here on a night when I should be flying home. I am out here on a consulting gig, and we work long hours so we can go home on Thursday night instead of Friday. This was supposed to be a holiday weekend, but I am going to spend a good portion of my ......
I have been working on a CSLA project for the last few months. We are working on refining our unit testing now that we have implemented our authorization rules. All good. We are working VS2005. Honestly, I like CSLA in many ways, but there are few gotchas we've seen along the way. This post outlines one of them. However, we noticed something today. We establish our starting conditions in our ClassIinitalize in the TestClass. When we have only one TestMethod in the class, this works fine. We recently ......
I'm still here. Still in Dallas Mon-Thurs, working 10 hour days on the client project. I just noticed it's been 2 weeks since I last posted, and thought I should. I am only a couple of weeks away from Platinum status with American Airlines. This is actually a good thing, even though American isn't what you might call a "great" airline. I am starting to be recognized by the people in the airport. Mostly due to my tats, but it's still depressing to fly that much. I found a cool binary watch that I ......
Not really sure how to take this........
Ok, let me start off by saying that I like MS stuff. No really, I mean that. Is it perfect? No, of course not. Some of it is very, very good, however, and worthy of appreciation. Some of it is even fantastic. I'll certainly accept that not everyone likes it, nor would I expect this would be any other way. I work in all day, most everyday, and make my living writing code for their products in their development tools. Does this make me biased? Maybe, but I am not sure. I do find it interesting that ......
I've noted many times in the past that it is most fascinating to me that a fascist organization such as the U.S. military protects the greatest land of freedom on earth. Now, bear in mind the definition of fascist when I say this. Webster defines it as: a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control. Note that this is the second, non-capitalized version of the word. I am not attempting to put the military down, of course, just being factual about how it operates. ......
