Well, I guess I am not surprised. I keep trying to act like I am, but I have to be honest. I was assured that this wouldn't happen as result of taking the new job, but it did....and I should have known it would.
Basically, the band has decided to "move on" without me. Essentially, there is concern over my availability due to the travel job. The other members are thinking I won't get to practice, won't be able to come to rehearsal, and will be hard pressed to make shows. They did say that as a result of this they will probably take a "hiatus", but I think I really know what that means. The three of them will move on and continue playing, and somehow, I'll just never get asked back when the hiatus is over. They'll emerge with a new guitar player before long, I've no doubt.
I confess I am happy that at least they had enough respect for me to tell me outright rather than just not tell me at all and leave me hanging. Still sucks, though. All the money and time "invested" has been wasted. You know, I bent over backwards to support and be a part of this band for a year now. Worthless now.
I am very sad. Rather bummed, you might say.
Sorry if this is not the correct forum for me to express this, but right or wrong, this is the place I am doing it. Guess I should stop whining and move on, though.
