This is a quote from someone at Mercury, and no, I won't give their name. This person was referring to the upgrade process with Mercury products. His fervent belief is that upgrading for the sake of being the first is a dangerous proposition with Merc stuff. I've read too many posts about compatibility issues with existing scripts written in 8.2 when migrated to 9.0. Something on an 18% magnitude. Yes, like 1/5th of the tests that used to run properly now present errors not related to the AUT, which could mask other errors caused by the AUT. Imagine reducing the credibility of your test suite by 18%.
That isn't to say we won't upgrade eventually, of course (still love the MDI!!), but I am going to do recommend we hold off awhile. 6 months or so won't make a huge difference in our stuff, and it will give the product time to mature.
