Blade: Trinity
Anyone else see this? Good action and all, but the story....good action and all. I'd never seen it since I am in a relationship that doesn't allow me access to such things as much as I would like (the reciprocal movie watching habit is also in effect), so I got this via Blockbuster online. I was underwhelmed to say the least. I did figure out what it is that I liked about the Blade series, and anyone who knows me sees this coming for a mile....the obvious comparisons to Batman! Especially the cool ......

Automation vs. Manual: Figuring things out. Sharepoint vs. DNN
Automation vs. Manual: Figuring things outWe are currently in the process of moving out of the Dark Ages testing-wise at my company. Up until recently we relied on heavy domain knowledge and Excel spreadsheets to track our testing efforts. We have had TestDirector for some time, but really only used it for defect tracking, and didn't keep our test plans/tests in it. QTP: Interacting with IE dialog boxes dynamically
***Excerpted from an article I posted to the Mercury Support site: IE sometimes pops up dialogs. What if we could write code that would handle these without knowing which boxes and in what order they will appear? Seemed like everytime I changed environments (we are a web shop), where these appeared changed. Sometimes, I'd get both, or neither, ......

Norton Internet Security Vs. GoogleTalk
I recently upgraded to the Norton Internet Security package. I've been a Norton fan for years, since the original Norton Desktop for Windows came out, and have shown a lot of brand loyalty over the years. Previously, I used just the AV software, and relied on free software for my firewall needs (Zone Alarm being my fave for years). Since I need to re-up my AV subscription, I thought "Why not?" (which is exactly what they want you to think...oy... I am so weak sometimes). So, I purchased the full ......

QTP: XMLDocument
Been working on the test component framework for our products in QTP. What I am noticing more and more often is that QTP native tools and functionality aren't terribly reliable. If you want to do something very simple, sure, but it often gets confused or loses the object with which it is to interact. That sucks I have also started to try and bypass the object repository for a variety of reasons. One of the biggest is that it sometimes "learns" an object strictly by it's x,y coordinate. Oy. Can't ......
