A bunch of us from the office took the CSTE today. For you developer types who aren't familiar with Software Test Engineer certifications (yes, we have them), that's what this is. Let me tell you something folks: this was tough Most of us are pretty sure we didn't pass, but we'll see. Test was very easy at first, but by section 4 was largely theoretical in nature. Since testing stuff can be a little subjective (the theory), these questions were very difficult to answer. It was only 4 hours long, but what a four hours! We will be studying to take it again soon in 6 months or so, I suspect. I hear the book will be rewritten (thank goodness!) before then, which should improve the process a bit I sure hope so. Ouch.
