I only got to attend the VS launch session. I couldn't get that much time off, but it was worthwhile. ASP.Net looks very good, as does SQL Server 2005. I was given the standard versions of both of these, and I am very excited about that, too. The speaker was pretty good, and the presentation went off without any hitches.
Save one.
Why, oh why, won't IT professionals shut up and let someone speak? We had to speak to this one tool behind us who insisted on carrying on a conversation at normal volume while we were going over some of the most interesting stuff. It was all about what he was doing with VS2003! We practically threatened him with death, and he simply wouldn't shut up! I tried to get his name and organization, because I was intending to call his rude self out right here on the blog. Sadly, I couldn't seem to get it. I think he knew I was trying cause he finally took his name badge off.
People, please. Just shut up and be respectful of the speaker and the other people around you. Is it so flipping hard to do? Can anyone give me a good reason why I shouldn't consider this rude? Oy.
