Some sage advice...

I am looking for a good, inexpensive web-hosting package with reliable service. I've checked a few on the web, but there's always a catch somewhere. You know, the setup fee is waived and the domain registration is taken care of if you pay the 12 month up front, rather than the three months. Stuff like that. I want something simple, and cheap. It will eventually grow into my family's website as we grow. I am currently using Geocities at present, simply since it's free and readily available. Any suggestions?

webhost4life.com
they're awesome.
i actually have two hosting packages out there.
one with them (with zero problems and good value)
and one with jodohost.com (who sucks...but i have tons of content there and its a pain to move dnn sites at the moment.)
i whole heartedly recommend webhost4life tho.

I use www.myhosting.com, have been for nearly 8 years (I have like 5 or 6 domains with them)

Never had a complaint. They are super affordable and do everything I need.

Well, yeah. I sorta knew that GeoCities sucks, but as my original post states "free and available"... we do what we can with what we have. I especially hate tools written to make web design "easier"; they hogtie anyone with any real skills.

I'll take a look at both of your suggestions; thanks!

I wanted very cheap Cold Fusion host for testing ONLY and went with datapacket. When working,it was fine. However, was totally down several times over 2 years for days or weeks. Three times (yes 3) had to completely recreate entire sites and lost all saved email. There solution to problems was often to wipe the server clean and make you start over from scratch.
