We all have those friends, those friends that can not go 20 minutes with out getting some spyware or virus. My buddy Evan got a nasty one the other day that hooked ctrl-alt-delete, taskmanager, regedit, msconfig, and also disabled any anti spyware software. .NET Remoting
We have several products that rely on VPN, which is obvious based on my many many many posts on VPN. The problem with VPN, is that every configuration is different and since we are not responsible for setting up or manage our clients VPN, it becomes very difficult to support. I think we can provide a more stable product using .NET remoting, so we have been doing research and testing. It is so nice that there are so many smart people out there blogging about it. EnGraph Datebox .NET Control
We have released DateBox .NET Control. This is the first of many controls we plan to release to the community. We have all these controls that we use during the development of our transportation solutions, that we decided to split them into individual dll's to be used by other developers. Linksys NSLU2 Network Storage Link
I bought one of these Linksys Network Storage Links tonight. After spending 20 minutes waiting on chat with tech support and moving 80gb of files, I've discovered 3 things that would have made installing this a whole lot easier 1) When running the setup utility, disable any computer firewalls 2) Linksys uses its own file format, so you have to reformat any existing usb hard drives 3) Linksys assumes you are using a Linksys router, which by default uses the ip range 192.168.1.x.
