I successfully installed the RTM version of Windows 7 last night. I got a copy of an .iso file for this due to my participation in the Windows 7 beta program. It was very nice of Microsoft to provide everyone that participated in the invited portion of the beta program to a free copy of Windows 7 Ultimate! Thanks Microsoft for that. I wasn’t 100% sure myself so I clarified with MS that the restricted license of SQL Server standard that comes with Team Foundation Server 2008 is limited to SQL Server 2005 standard. In short, even though SQL 2008 Standard or Enterprise is supported with TFS 2008, you MUST LICENSE IT SEPERATELY from your TFS license. Like the rest of the geeks across the land, on Thursday I eagerly logged into my MSDN account and downloaded Windows 7. It took about four hours, borrowing my client’s pipe for part of it.
