A new software factory?

well kinda, sorta, yep, nope.... ummm you decide :)

So I had been meaning to post about this, no really I had ;) but thanks to a prompt by Gareth I thought I'd better put something here too :)

Anyway the new factory I'm talking about is the Repository Factory, this factory was originally part of the Service Factory, but the guys over at P&P have unleashed this factory so that we can compose our own factories using the smaller factories or just use the Repository Factory on its own in a solution.

So what is it, well it was originally published as the Data Access Guidance Package and its job is to automate the creation of entity classes that map to database tables and repository classes, and do all of the CRUD for those entity classes. Sound good? Then head on over to their CodePlex site and get downloading.

So I think this is a great move by P&P as any form of guidance no matter how granular can be treated as an installable factory (I know its a bit of a sweeping statement but I hope you get what I mean :) ), I really look forward to seeing what else they can release from larger factories. Oh and guys don't think that some of the behind the scenes Factory Builder stuff should be exempt either, I'm sure the community would like a hand up with some of the actions you've created.
