Zune disappointment

I saw the other day that zune had released the new "Zune nano 8GB" type version...perfect for me as I only want a small MP3 player for the gym...looking deeper into it - downloading music/podcasts to the zune from Zune Marketplace i discovered this and how shite it is too...

Gravatar Yup, not even available in Canada. How do they plan on stealing any meaningful marketshare if it is only available in the US?

Gravatar Zune looks to be a hit mith MS employees and friends only - not one single person in the UK I know has even talked about it in conversation - its never going to sell well.

Gravatar I'm sure if the Microsoft PR engine gets behind it, it will sell. Esp. with wifi sync and 360 compat...which seems cool.

Wow - not even in Canada...whats the crack then MS???

Gravatar I read about that as well, no Zune Marketplace love for anyone outside the states.

Of course this does beg the question... why would you even want to buy music from the Marketplace when there are cheaper and DRM-free sources available? I've had my Zune since launch and I don't think I've bought a single track from there. There are ton of great programs for downloading podcasts as well, in fact any half-decent RSS reader probably has a podcast downloader like FeedDemon/FeedStation.

Of course you've had to wait an entire year just to get movie rentals via the XBox, what's up with that?
