New day, new role

I started my first week in my new role as Chief Technical Architect - Microsoft Systems at Computer Aid, Inc. on Monday. After 4 1/2 years at Microsoft in various technical evangelist roles, it's going to be cool to actually do full design and implementation again.

Much of the move was precipitated by the arrival of my twin boys (Hunter and Connor) 7 weeks ago. The DE role took a lot of time at nights and on weekends to support user groups, and I decided that I'd rather spend those hours with my kids. Computer Aid has a lot to offer and has a lot for me to do, but doesn't cut so deep into family time. Still, Microsoft was a great place to work, and I met the greatest people ever there - both in the product teams in Redmond and in the local field office. My ex-fellow DE's are world class.

Here, I'll be just as immersed in technology, but will be actually implementing it, not just showing it off. My latest kick is Windows Workflow Foundation (WF), which looks like a great fit for the kinds of apps we'll be building. Stay tuned
