It is traditional to open beginning computer programming books with a 'Hello World!' application. I'm sure the practice has continued throughout the world of blogs, and I am merely following the herd in determining what to write at the start of a blogging career.
Since I've started following the blogs a few years ago, I've come to realize that I really need to work on my communication skills. I'm the typical hyper-introvert software guy and I feel that I'm in a position where I'm not going to grow as a developer until I master the art of communicating better with my peers. To that end, I've dove into being a contributor for the
NMock2 mocking library, an alternative to
Rhino.Mocks. The syntax works better for me than Rhino.Mocks and my company is pretty much invested in NMock2 and isn't likely to change quickly to another platform.
Additionally, I think getting involved with this project will help keep me sharp. The work I'm doing tends to lag behind the bleeding edge, although I do my best to keep pushing things forward. There are always new things coming around and if I don't keep up, I'm doing myself and my company a disservice.
