Microsoft MVP

User Groups

It's only 11 days until the launch of VS.Net 2005.  As part of the big event, Ineta and Microsoft thought that it would be good to have all of the user groups have their own launch event.  As part of the deal Microsoft would provide a big box of content and goodies to run this party.  A great idea!  Get the community involved.

I have the incredibly insance idea of hosting the caparea.net event only 1 short week after the launch.  Let's grab some of that momentum I thought.  Well, I guess Microsoft is more wrapped up in trying to get the 3 major versions of the products done than in getting this box of goodies out.  Completely understandable.  The only downside is that the canned presentations, the material, the stuff that many of the “I've never presented before, can talk about cool new features, but haven't done any demos” launch speakers are waiting for is in that box.

Now I heard from Microsoft that this was shipped today (not Monday as previously thought).  So, I will be spending the next 19 days (November 15th is our event) getting my feet wet talking to myself and my unfortunate to be a perfect listening audience 15 week old son.

Wish me luck!

Last week Caparea.net welcomed Carl Franklin and his DotNetRocks Road show.  The show for the event is now online.  Follow the trip at http://www.dotnetrocks.com/roadtrip/.

I've just posted all the Ineta Member user groups.  If you don't see your group, let me know!

Yes, I know.  I never post to my blog.  I am not making a conscious effort to be more active.  blah..blah..blah.  I don't want Hal Hayes to rag on me during any more caparea.net user group meetings.

Jim Duffy gave an enthusiastic presentation on what's new in ASP.Net 2.0.  I haven't heard Jim speak before, but had heard that he was quite the entertainer.  He did not dissapoint.  If you get a chance to here Jim speak or take some of his training course at TakeNote, you won't be dissapointed.  Thanks again Jim.

We at Caparea.Net are gearing up for the Nov. 7th launch of VS.Net 2005, SQL Server 2005, and BizTalk 2006.  Yours truly will be giving the Ineta Community Launch presentation at Caparea.net on November 15th.  If you are in the area, definitely stop by.  We are going to have a ton of stuff to give away!
