Scary as it sounds, I am settling in and even find myself in a bit of a routine. Not something I had really 'planned' to do but inevitable no doubt. The itchy feet are still quietly tapping in the background making sure I don't get too settled ...
In the head up to Daisain, it's full on festival season here and tomorrow is 'Tij'. Traditionally it was to honour married women and it was the one day a year they could visit their families and everyone make a fuss of them. The dress for women tomorrow is a red sari, so new sari (the full wrap around type and not red ! ) in hand, the girls are coming around this morning to show me how to wrap up. I just love the formal sari's, it was such a hard choice, there is every colour under the rainbow with so many beautiful patterns and embellishments. Like the proverbial 'kid in a candy store' I could have bought so many, but in the end I behaved and only got one and 'YES' I really did need need a new pair of shoes to go with it !!!
In honour of Tij, its a day off tomorrow and looks like a busy weekend coming up. Tomorrow I am getting taken around to see the festivities and on Saturday a couple of the girls from work are taking me to see some of the sights just out of town. (All going well, plans here can be changed at any second, but fingers crossed there will be no troubles)
To all those hassling me about photo's, I will endeavour to try and take some decent ones on the weekend. I'm currently sorting through the mess I've made at the moment, categorising, selecting, fixing and getting a web album up on 'our' Westnet space. When I finally finish this mammoth task I will put the link up. (and no m$ for those technically minded out there, its java based opensource and seems to work well .. so far. I refrained from putting my new .NET skills to the test)
Speaking of technical stuff, I have put up a new article expanding on the
Tech Links, added a few more and some blurb to go with it.
