Google Calendar, Part 3: Feedback Edition

Oh, this is much better source of links, tutorials, etc. From Ram Shankar Yadav:

Having played with it every spare moment this morning, I already have a few pet peeves:

Also, back to my comment in Part 2 regarding calendar event coloring... it looks like GCal is saving the colors for multiple calendars. I've yet to find someone to setup a calendar that I can subscribe to yet - feel free to provide yours in the comments for my testing.

Google Calendar, Part 2: Mini Review

Just a few observations:

  • Creating / saving events seems really slow right now (probably because of the gold rush)
  • Event reminders can be upto a week prior! Schweet.
  • It's not immediately obvious how to change the date of an event (you just click on it)
  • Unlike OWA multi-day events only show the event title once, with a solid bar across all days
  • No event color-coding

Well, that's all for now.

Google Calendar!!!

OMG, OMG, OMG. I've so been waiting for this... FINALLY.

I heard about on Neowin: http://feeds.feedburner.com/neowin-main?m=1305

HERE IT IS -> http://www.google.com/calendar

From what I can tell:

  • Requires a Gmail account
  • Support for multiple calendars, public or private
  • Support for automatically adding events from email invites
  • Notifications (event reminders, daily agenda)
  • Notify me by cell phone!!
  • Import calendar from Outlook!

I don't know about you, but I'm switching off my personal stuff from Outlook (work and customer accounts) right now! Woot!
