I recently lost a coworker. It was sad to see her go, but it was time for her to move on. She was never fully utilized in her position. I tried in my own small way to change that... but in the end, she had to move on for the sake of her career and her sanity. I don't blame her. I really don't. You have to keep your career on track or you'll end up in the same rut I'm in - and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
She was the only other one that had a good understanding of grammar, and the only other one that could see that the user interface was as important as the core objects (ASP.NET app). She knew nothing of .NET - and didn't want too, but she had the kind of keen eye that it takes to make a truly usable application. You can't teach that...
She was only with the team for 6 months or so... but our customer actually gave her a coin for all her hard work. I wish her luck in her new job and her new home! For what its worth, she is a hottie in her own way (with a lucky husband) - and we will miss her! ;)
P.S. Just remember not to give me the evil eye! <shudder> Oh, and keep on rockin' in the Friedwald!
