Into the Sunset

I went on a cruise with my brother (Frank) and his friend (Jonathon) on July 4th. It was the 5 day Carnival cruise on the M.S. Holiday sailing from Mobile, AL. I was in room M186 (port side, all the way aft).

Having been out to sea in the US Navy, I figured I knew what it was like (living like a Naval officer ;). Naturally, it was even better. I kept a log, and I intend to share it with you... but not yet. I'm too close to the situation. It feels too private right now. What?! Steve has a private side? Well, usually no. However this time there is a lot of emotion that I'm still sorting through. Yes, women were involved - but it's my actions, either directly or indirectly that I feel compelled to analyze before I dump it all here on my blog.

Ok, that sounds rather cryptic. So I'll give you a peek. There was one woman (Angela) who made me feel like I haven't felt since Georgia. She simply took my breath away - both in style and substance. I have no idea how I mustered the courage to even talk to her (especially since I did it before Frank/Jonathon - consumate Play'rs) - let alone drink and dance the nights away with her. But it's entirely understandable given my incapacitating shyness that I would not "get around" to asking the important questions. Namely: 1) Are you unattached? 2) What's your number? 3) What's your email address?

Sure I know a few things - namely she's a hairstylist in Nashville with her best friends Barbara and Kelsey; but where does that get me? Nowhere. Here in lies the crux of my current angst. I'm definitely going to need time to process this... I don't know when I'll finally post my cruise log - maybe never. For now, I'm going to replay it all through my head. It's so surreal. I can't believe it all happened.

I'm smiling now - though you can't see it. :) Have a drink and join me will you?
