MySQL 5.0 Steps up, and becomes a *Real* Database

Check told me, but I didn't believe it.

The next version of MySQL will have Triggers and Stored Procedures? Damn. Matt Hawley, developer of the excellent eWorldUI.net series of controls reports: "it's about time."

I agree. After all, it's not even worth it if I can't write a stored proc now is it? Why would anyone waste his or her time with it? How the hell did it ever get popular in the first place? I mean it sounds like dBase was better. Sheesh.
