Sams Teach Yourself C# 2010 in 24 Hours

I’m sure most of you are familiar with the Sams Teach Yourself books, at least in passing if not in owning one. I am very excited to announce that I will be joining the Sams Publishing authoring team for their upcoming Teach Yourself C# 2010 in 24 Hours book.

This new edition will be quite a bit different from the previous editions since it will be much more language-focused and will take a more holistic view of the language. If you have already looked at one of the earlier editions and decided that it wasn’t for you, please give the new edition a chance to change your mind; for those of you who already have an earlier edition, I hope this one will be of interest to you as well.

As it gets closer to the release date, I’ll be sure to let everyone know when it will be available.

I also want to thank Keith Elder, Shawn Weisfeld, Brad Abrams, and Krzysztof Cwalina for providing some excellent feedback on the table of contents.

The book will cover both the language basics and talk about the new features in C# 4.0.

There are some typos in Chapter 12 about Linq on page 274.

Are the answers to the 'Try It Yourself' sections available anywhere? I'm stuck on Pg 102 and can't get the same results.

Thanks for pointing out the typos. I have found and corrected them and will be sending an update to my publisher for the next printing. The corrections will also be added to an errata document available on the InformIT website for the book.

Yes, they are. You can download all of the code for the book from the InformIT website for the book (http://www.informit.com/store/product.aspx?isbn=0672331012) under the Downloads tab. This includes the code for the completed Try It Yourself sections grouped by Hour and title.

It seems there is some code missing for Chapter 12. There is no Hour.sln file and JounalEntry.cs and Test.cs are missing as well.

I bought the sams 2010 C# book. Can I download the code for the examples anywhere. I've seen that in other books and it's nice sometimes not to have to type it all in.
