We just got notice of the rate increase by Ameren, and our bill is going up apx. $2/day. That's not a rate increase, that's an attack!
I started thinking about all the things I could do with $60 per month, but what really bothers me are the people who can barely afford it now. $60 per month is really going to hurt them.
Maybe they plan on introducing a "$100 More" donation plan to replace the "$1 More" plan.
This sucks.
St. Louis (KMOX) -- the Illinois Commerce Commission approved the utility's plan for a phased rate increase. Some of Ameren's customers could end up paying as much as 50-percent more for their power beginning January 1st, when the state's utility rate freeze exprires. But this new plan would allow households and businesses to defer some of the extra costs. But, One Illinois lawmaker thinks...the Ameren rate increase will only hurt for awhile.
