Yahoo Customer Service Sucks

I understand keeping the employment rate low in America is important. But does everyone really need a job? Let's use two in-duh-viduals at Yahoo customer service as an example.

My original question sent to support at Yahoo! Music Unlimited:

Can I setup two devices, a portable media center and a smart phone, to synchronize my music? Or am I limited to a single device?

Jasin, Yahoo Customer Care #27292104, responds:

Your device will need to be compatible with the WMA format in order to play content purchased from Yahoo! Unlimited.

(I left out the links to check to see if my device is compatible and the standard welcome and signature from Yahoo to keep this short.)

Okay, he did not read my question. I know my devices are compatible, I even told them what they were. I asked if I could use two. And of course there is no phone support to try to clear this up with a single call. So let's clarify and respond:

That was not my question. My question was, can I setup two compatible devices to one account.

Oryan, from Yahoo Customer Care who doesn't send his ID number, responds:

Moron #2 proceeds to respond with the exact same canned answer from their database without even reading my question.

Now I know the smart thing to do here is just try it at home and find out for myself. But I can no longer resist. I have to try again:

OH MY GOD! What is wrong with you people. That is the same response I got last time. READ MY QUESTION! Can I hook up 2 DEVICES to a single subscription? I know my device is compatible. I want to know if I buy another compatible device if my wife and I can both sync them to the same subscription.

Will the third stooge read my question? I'll update the story when I get a response, assuming I get one and the Yahoo! guys don't mess with my account in retaliation.

I have been in a very frustrating experience lately with Yahoo customer care. Since last Wednesday, I am unable to access my email account and I received an email in an alternate address saying that my password was changed! I filed a commplain with Yahoo security but I believe it is completely useless. I am still waiting.
Anyone experiencing the same situation? any advice?

Dump Yahoo. Once you need to contact customer service, you're screwed. Hopefully you will get this fixed long enough to get what you need from Yahoo to leave them behind. Good luck.

At least you received a response. Good grief I have tried several times over the last month to get a response from Yahoo! regarding their billing practice. I ordered Music Unlimited and requested payments be made in monthly installments. They billed me for an entire year's subscription. I am highly irritated with the service for this reason. I have requested a cancelation and refund to no avail for the last three months. This is a horrible service should you ever require help. I agree with the above in that once you need to contact customer service, you are screwed. I am currently filing a complaint with my State's Attorney General, the FTC and possibly the FCC (not sure if they have any jurisdiction?)

Hey there. I like the message thread and wondered if I can add to it. I tried but it didn't show up on the site. I am setting up a website to outline the extensive service interruption I have experienced with Bill Pay and the vast ineptitude of the Yahoo! customer care reps. I am in the process of getting an attorney involved on my behalf, because requesting termination 6 times has not resulted in cancellation, and now I'm closing my bank account. I had the same probelm with email, and when I looked at my profile, I found it had been snatched by a hacker. Because my account was opened 8 years ago, unfortunately I had lost my secret password answer (which may have been changed anyway by the hacker) Yahoo did nothing. Anyone up for a challenge and want to hack it back? Each time I asked a question about hacking, I received an automated response from the same person each time. I would have been lucky to get more than one person, then maybe someone would have listened to reason. You can see if it's obvious if my account has been hacked by looking at the profile for earth__mother. Check out the picture and tell me what you think (it's clean).

I began experiencing problems with getting into my email account last week, I tried changing my password to no avail. Not sure if it was hacked into or what. I sent email after email to customer service only to get the exact same response each and every time. Those who have experienced this same problem, have you been able to regain access to your old email account? If so please post the actions you had to take to do so.

Did you try setting your cookies? That is the first response I got from Yahoo! Then, a weird thing happened.....i got into my email account and I got this "congratulations!" card from Yahoo....a smart-ass type of email. I suspect it wasn't from them, but with all the trouble i've been having with them, it wouldn't surprise me that maybe their employees are a little bored and are randomly messing with people. Does this sound paranoid? Maybe, but I can't help but think their total lack of care and concern belies a lackadaisical attitude towards their job. Unkind people, to say the least. At any rate, it was shortly after that email that I could not access my account. And then the hacker's "handprint" shows up on my profile. (profiles.yahoo.com/earth__mother) Isn't hacking illegal? I guess if they own the address it's up to them.Switching to hotmail now!

They totally SUCK, and they don't CARE.

Some spammer got a yahoo mail account to spam. I forwarded the spam mail to abuse@yahoo.com with all the headers. Two days later they sent me two emails. The first said that they had taken care of the problem and were dealing with the violator, but could not discuss what they were doing. The second said that I violated the TOS of my account and it would be shut down!!!!!

I reported a spammer to yahoo and they marked ME as the spammer. See what being a good citizen gets you?

I emailed customer service from the account (not shut down, YET). Their response was to send me canned instructions on what to do when my password wouldn't work. I wrote back telling them very strongly, but politely, not to send me a form email. No reply at all.

I have been having problem logging into my yahoo email account. I'm gettint the incorrect password message. When I try to recover my account by entering my email address. I get the message that no matching account was found.
Now I can't even seem to be able to find an email address for yahoo customer service. I have the free email account, with this service you are not allowed the yahoo C/S phone number. But you are suppose to be able to contact them by email. Though the email address is not provided.

I got the CS phone number (408)349-1572. Yes, they asked me whether I had a paid account. I have. My problem is that I had been keeping "My Web" in the old version of the Yahoo bar for long, and I had very important sites saved. Because of the constant offering of the new Beta Version 2.0 of my Web, I don't know how I clicked for it. What happened? I lost all my saved Web Pages.

What happened when I called? The lady who answered the phone just told me they don't have enough space to keep all the sites from the old version. But they don't alert you that that could happen.

Doesn't it really suck?

I agree with all above - thank you for supplying the phone number above - it allowed me to get even further angry and frustrated as the young man (I don't know from where) was unable to help me at all. I am having a problem that in the groups my entire email address is showing up - it did not have this behavior before - None of the rest of my group members have their email addresses showing up in full.
The representative kept telling me to go through procedures that I had already done. Finally he said there was no way to help me except to type in a feedback form on the help area. I told him I had done that but it was feedback and did not elicit a response - only a venting capacity.
He said that he wouldn't even tell his supervisor when I asked him to pass along my dissatisfaction - just please fill out the feedback form.
I will do my best to trash the yahoo reputation throughtout my internet networking. I have enjoyed the groups for so long, that I am sorry I won't be able to participate - only lurk - in order to protect my email from viruses and spam. If anyone has any ideas on how to address this issue, pleas post!!!!!!

Thanks for the address for Yahoo customer care. I am new to Yahoo mail. Last week I was having problems trying to figure out how to access and set up my address book. I e-mailed Yahoo customer service, and I can't remember now how I got the address because I haven't been able to find it again, but anyway I told them I was having trouble finding the needed information about the address book. I did get an e-mail back, but like some of the above stories, it appeared that they hadn't read my message. The response said that I would have to give them access to my account so they could get in there and find out what was wrong. I don't know any military secrets, so I don't care if some customer service person looks at my e-mail, but all I wanted to know was how to get into the address book. Is that so hard to answer? In the next day or two after that, most of the buttons in my e-mail screen have quit working. I cannot use the buttons for "mark," "move," "reply," "forward," etc. I just e-mailed customer care again (if the above address is correct) and I'm hoping I get an answer.

Regarding the above posting, I talked to my nephew about my problems with Yahoo. He thought there was a problem with Internet Explorer, and suggested that I try going into Yahoo through the Firefox browser. I did, and all the Yahoo mail buttons that did not work in Internet Explorer are now working, so apparently the problem was a conflict between Yahoo and Internet Explorer.

I'm starting to get the same runaround with yahoo myself. I havent used my one account in a few days and its my primary messenger account and it's telling me my password is incorrect and when I go to the password change it tells me the personal information I've entered is wrong and so is the security thing even when I've typed it in right. I finaly found a link to a form to send them a notice about it and I was promptly email back with an automated response giving met he link to change my password, and if that didnt work to reply to that message with my problem,yahoo id, birthdate, alternate email. and secret question and anser. I called today actually and I got a human failry quickly who was rather pleasent and seemed eager to help. Although she herself could not resolve my problem she told me to contact account security I made sure to ask her precisely how to contact them. She gave me the email address of account-security-help@cc.yahoo-inc.com Initialy they send you an automated reply but so far they are a lot more on the ball than anythign else I've tried. For you people having password issues, try emailing that address, put your yahoo ID you're having issued with in the subject line and the question or problem in the body (thats what she told me to do) hope it helps some of you!!!

Yahoo has become sort of the Ballys Fitness and the Cingular Wireless of Internet portals. Their are using about 85% of their server power for front line services and when it comes to bulk mail you can hold your breadth for days waiting for a download. Of course the standard argument is "it's free"!

"Free" yes it is. However, if their "Free" sucks and it does anymore, why the hell would anybody with a brain pay them for any services?
Duh!!! They tried running that game on me some time ago and I asked them the preceding question. They of course never responded. This is the company that about 10 years ago was the talk of the Internet techies because of all their server power. I think they are still using those 10 year old servers.

The best bet is get a "pay acct/" with a real company and move on.

I just stumbled into this site to discover with relief I am not the only one befuddled. I have no problem logging in to my email, but when I click MY YAHOO to get to the page I set up at Yahoo Finance, it asks me for my password again and then does not let me in! Stupid sods! So when I go to individual stock message boards "generically", they pull additional tricks, such as, when lurking on a message board, I occasionally click on the user ID, and whenever I do, am unable to then return to the message board by clicking on BACK- instead, I have to close the window and start all over again.

Just found this blog, just found this discussion, just called that number. Doesn't work for free services -- it's an automatic hang-up. Meanwhile, my Yahoo! Finance portfolio that I'd been using for years has suddenly turned to gibberish for no knowable reason and all the e-mails with Customer Care haven't done squat. So that's where I'm at.

i have a free email accnt with Hotmail, sent them an email about why my quota was never increased (even tho everyone elses i knew was), they replied and the next day my quota was increased. I guess i have to switch back to hotmail and scrap this yahoo crap! My messenger wont sign in anymore. I don't even get a pop-up with a reason why. now it's much worse when I tried sending in my inquiry they returned my email as a damn "Mailer-Daemon" problem. I did get ahold of someone at the 855-562-7219 phone number. And they gave me the email address of the security dept that CAN get your account back.

I had someone take over my yahoo acct. I must have visited a fishing web site or something. It took a couple of weeks to get it back and I really had to stay on yahoo's ass but they fixed it for me. Turns out who ever took it changed my last name, address, security questions, security answers, zip code etc... It was many long conversations to prove it was mine but I did. This stupid yahoo beta mail add is pissing me off! I wrote a huuuge email, I kept writing for about an hour, or even more...and after I clicked on send I got redirected to this damn beta mail ad, and upon clicking on "return to original yahoo mail" I got back to my inbox....the whole text was lost...I was just sitting there, unable to believe I just spent an hour of my life writing that email...FOR NOTHING!

I am being hacked and my yahoo account is unaccessible from any computer so far. I tried switching accounts and as soon as I logged out and tried to get back in I was blocked out. Any ideas?

I have been trying to regain my identity on yahoo which has been stolen on April 23,2007. I made a number of submissions to yahoo with no avail. Today I received several calls from friends around the world who were approached by the criminal who made that theft, claiming that I have been stolen while attending an international conference in Nigeria and requesting them to urgently transfer money to rescue me. I am having a hell of a time trying to delete my current yahoo profile photo and every time i try it takes me to yahoo photos which will soon be closing, so i moved my photos to a different photo site. Now when I try to delete my current picture on my yahoo member profile, it takes me to a page that says "User Account Migrated

IT SURE DOES!!!
I have 4 different accounts that I cannot get into - one of which is my business account.
I sign in and it continuously takes me right back to the login screen. I sign in with the wrong password on purpose - and it says - invalid password - but i sign in with the correct password and just the same screen to login - requesting my password again and again.
I can get in to change my password and have done so numerous times - but as soon as i do change it - it goes right back to the login screen.

I have cleared my cache - i have tried internet explorer and mozilla - but same thing.

Is it possible that they blocked my IP address for some reason???

stumbled into this site as well looking for the live chat address again.
This is aggrivating.
I asked the same question the first guy asked.
i needed to log out and log in and lost them, now can't find the im live customer service screen.....and i could not get the same guy who already was 10 minutes into my question.
I need to start over with a new person.

I've been having issues getting support for the music service. LIke a dumb-ass I purchased the upgraded player... I subscribed to the to go service.. when there were problems I contacted customer service, via their email form, 5 times. 5 times I received an emal asking for more info, 5 times... never a follow up from them once the information was provided. I called customer service.. finally found a number.. they put me back to the email account.. more trash.
The last phone rep told me the problem would be looked at in the next 5 to 7 days. That's a longt time to not have access to a service you freaking paying for.
They are really really bad... No follow up and no support at all. To bad I have spend so much with them! I regret it now!

yesterday, on September 23th,2007 , when i tryed to sign in on yahoo messenger with my id( n3fertity) i couldn't because a hacker has stolen my password! and today i tryed to sign in with n3ferity and my old password and it's impossible! i think the hacker create a new password for n3fertity! and i want to know this new password on my n3fertity id please! i'm waiting for an answer from u! help me !

My friend is trying to regain his identity on yahoo which has been stolen on 9-23,2007.Doesn't remember what was the DOB or zipcode on file.Big time.
We spoke over the phone with 5 people from Customer Service...there's no hope.Of course he knows the password and security questions, security answers.Is there any HOPE?!!!!! Please let me know...

Yahoo without a doubt is the sorriest contributor on the net..I just came back from Iraq...after 15 months and they closed my account last week..and wont reopen it..all my letters. pictures from my boyfriend while I was deployed are NOW gone..I hate them...I hate everything yahoo...I hope and pray someone buys them and fires every damn person who works there..if THERE are any live people there.................may they rot in hell.

I logged in to check my mail 13.04.08 It came up with invalid password. I know i typed in the correct password still it came up with the same message. The last time i used password is saturday 12th April 08. I wanted to contact someone at Yahoo customer care. No mumber is available. The problem is that i could not remember 0ne security question and an automated message repeatedly comes up requiring on answer to the question. Thanks for nothing Yahoo customer no care. They can shove there services up a dead bears assss!!!!

I have never been so frustrated and ANGRY. Because I cannot remember the answer to the security question YAHOO MADE ME ANSWER when I set up my account DECADES AGO, I cannot reset the password that some Nigerian Hacker changed and thus am locked out of MY ACCOUNT. In the meantime EVERYONE in my address book is receiving emails telling them to send me money in AFRICA....I am furious. I have WASTED SO MUCH TIME dealing with YAHOO...It is ridiculous.
