I like my Garmin Forerunner 305 but the call of a new tech gadget is strong! I’ve been eyeing the Garmin Edge 705 for a while now but the price has been an issue. Garmin recently announced the Edge 500 which looks to be more inline with what I want. I don’t often (never?) need mapping when on my bike. Kind of a nice-to-have that would probably be wasted and never used.

Here is a VERY in depth review of the Edge 500 from a guy who apparently owns almost every sports product that Garmin makes! It’s awesome to get his perspective!

When I read your title I think to link the article on dcrainmaker's blog ... but I found it in your post.

Do you have problem with FR305 or nothing? Sometime it does not take the GPS signal :(

bye :)

Nope no problem with the 305... it has always worked perfectly for me.

Just looking to upgrade to a cycling specific computer... a larger screen will be nice.

The FR305 is good for running and triathlon (no swim session)

The Edge (I have the 305) has a very good screen and it's fantastic to read.

The FR305's screen is not simple to read from the bike :(

Oh yes, i see the article on DCRainmaker. To be correct I found DCRainmaker with the article "Swim ith forerunner" :)

I talk with some friends and the swim with FR but after sometime the FR has a lot of problem. So I decide to swim without it.

The ne garmin (310xt) it's percfet to swim
