Steve Bargelt Oooooo biker!

I've been running Windows Home Server since the beta days on a huge, inefficient  server that I built from scratch a few year ago. Earlier this year the SATA RAID controller started acting funny - telling me that drives were bad yet on a drive scan or reboot they'd be fine. After enough scared I decided to upgrade to a HP EX470. Smart move! I love it. It is tiny and it "just works." I finally have

Hello I have upgraded my memory to 2GB months ago on my EX475 with no problems and now last month I upgraded the processor with the 2.6GHz AMD LE-1640 Orleans and it came up just fine but for some reason or another it shuts down every few days for no reason.. I checked in the event viewer and it just shows an unexpected shutdown .. I am running Bios Ver R02 jul-13-07. Is there an updated ver and if so how do we install it.
Thanks Rob

Hey Rob... sorry to hear that you are having problems. I don't see an newer BIOS version on HP's site.

Since this started happening after you installed the new processor I'd try this:
**remove the heat sink
**remove the processor
**re-seat the processor
**reapply a good thermal paste
**reattach the heat sink

Good luck!

Anybody know what are the part numbers for the case fans for the EX 470?
Mine have stopped showing a RPM value but are still turning. I cannot get fans directly from HP, so I have to try ordering the parts (fans) by their part number.
