I just caught some news regarding 'teenage violence and games”. Since I played HALO 2 often during the past week I was surprised to see that HALO 2 is ranked #4 on the top 10 list of ‘most violent games’ on the market, according to some study I haven’t caught the name of. I disagree. While HALO 2 is violent, no doubt about it, other games are by far more violent. In HALO 2 you don’t have real people, you are fighting aliens. There is no body parts flying around, there is no wounded people begging for help. The whole game is a “space adventure”. I haven’t noticed any change on the people I know play HALO 2 often. Most of them are regular Canadian developer ‘guys’ who play for fun and constantly brag about the implementation of it, using whatever rendering techniques, Direct X, etc.
And just for the bragging rights, here are my accomplishments for one week of playing HALO 2. My gamer tag is sashak.
