In
Part 1 we setup our Dynamic Domain with DynDNS. In this post I'll show you how to configure your Linksys router with the information from DynDNS.
Login to your Linksys by opening Internet Explorer and trying in the IP address of your router in the address bar nd click go or press enter. The default IP address of most Linksys router will be 192.168.1.1. You'll be prompted to enter a "Username" and "Password". The default credentials for a Linksys router is Username = [blank] and Password = admin. You'll then see the following screen.
Click on the menu item "DDNS". You'll then be taken to the Dynamic DNS configuration page on your Linksys router. Your screen should now look like this
By default (1) the DDNS Service will be "Disable". Click on the dropdown and select DynDNS.org. (2) Enter the username you created when signing up for the account on DynDNS.com website. (3) Enter the password you provided when signing up for the account on DynDNS.com website. The Linksys router will use these credentials to automatically login to the account. (4) Enter the domain name you configured in the Dynamic DNS section at DynDNS.com. This will be yourhostname.dyndns.org and click on the 'Save Changes" button. You should see the following message at the bottom of the screen (in red) DDNS is updated successfully.
That's it! You've now successfully configured your Linksys WRT54G router for Dynamic IP with DynDNS.com service. Anyone can now reach the router /domain name you configured in the Dynamic DNS section at DynDNS.com. This will be yourhostname.dyndns.org. I hope you find this post helpful.
