Check here http://sknetlog.synthasite.com/vs-2008-extension-for-wss.php for the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Tools: Visual Studio 2008 Extensions, Version 1.2 which will get installed with out having wss installed on the same machine.

The link mentioned worked great for getting avoiding the install windows sharepoint services 3.0 to use WSS Tools with visual studios 2008. Thanks!

This is great, just what I need (almost). I imagine many people have the Sharepoint Server on a different machine. Any chance you could do the same for the 64 bit MSI please?

Does anyone know if the .dll's from a 64-bit install will do the trick for getting extensions running in VS2k8 on a 32-bit machine? Guessing not, but kind of hoping someone can tell me for sure before I even attempt it...

I have 64 bit version of windows it show following error when i try to install "This product cannot be installed on 64-bit version of windows",
I want proper exe for installation can any one have idea about this.
Let me know any way to resolved this issue.
