Tech Ed - Days 1 & 2

Alas, my resolution to blog every day while at Tech Ed has already been broken. There is just so much information and some of the best information comes from the informal sessions in the evenings.

It was really cool watching my friend Frank La Vigne (www.franksworld.com/) present at such a premier event, I remember him back when he was a presenter at a RV.NUG meeting. I talked to him tonight and he's evals look good - WAY TO GO Frank.

I really enjoyed Rob Howard's presentation on ASP.NET internals. He knows his stuff (of course, I'm sure he wrote some of it) and does a great job of explaining it. Knowing what's going on behind the scene's will definitely help with some authentication I am currently workingon.

Tonight I attended the Bird of a Feather sponsored by INETA and Culminus. I learned a lot during the informal chats with a moderator. The session on SharePoint led by Andrew Connell and Spencer Harbar was especially good. They definitely know MOSS 2007.

TechEd - INETA Summit

I made it to the INETA UG Leader Summit yesterday. Great job by everyone helping host - INETA, Microsoft and OneTug (Orlando .NET User Group). Great hospitality! There were some great ideas shared. Had I not been up since 4:30 am to catch a flight I would have shared some ideas (more later on those). We wound up at a bar&grille after. We hadn't been there long when the "New Village People" arrived - complete with a guy dressed in a wedding dress and another in a green speedo and knee pads.

Got to meet lots of people - other UG Leaders, some INETA and Microsoft folks. That list is not quite as long as the good ideas shared, but definitely making some contacts here. I'd name them, but I'm sure I would miss some. EVERYONE I met was great - special thanks to Keith for driving some of us back to the hotels.
