RV.NUG VS 2005 / SQL Server 2005 Launch .. 18 days and counting......

Back in October it felt like we had all the time in the world to prepare for our event

In November I followed the Charleston, SC launch via Chris Williams blog and worked a “little“ harder

In December ... I ate lots of non-Atkins food and enjoyed the holidays

In January ... it began to feel close...

This has been a really great experience so far.  We are now receiving items at least 2 or 3 times a week from our sponsors.  At first it was awful to go “beg“ for support, now it's just fun.  Not one person approached has said no and many have offered items above and beyond what we asked for.  The first reminder contact with a sponsor felt awful also.  But they were apologetic that I had to contact them and threw in some more items.  If you are helping with a user group and feeling discouraged, plan an event.  It's amazing how much support there is for your group and it is providing us the best marketing we've ever had for our group.

I just really hope that we can increase our membership with this event.  Trying to figure out the best way to encourage this during the actual event (I think asking them for annual dues is out!).
