There is a lot about Microsoft that is new and it will affect the world just the same. With windows 7, Exchange Server 2010, Server 2008 and VS 2010 (just to mention a few), there appears to be a complete refresh cycle in play. The programming paradigm is still in flux, in fact. As we look towards a couple more iterations of HTML, set to fall upon us any day now, the entire programming community is confronted with what will totally alter the logic of programming forever...parallel programming....sure none of this is truly new but now we MUST deal with it!!...VS2010 IS OUT...even a new office, browser version etc....here we are at the end of July 2010 and roughly 25% of ALL users are using IE6! But the dilemma of whether or not to take advantage of all the new technology is not the question, the question is HOW SOON CAN WE!!
For some, it's the money (I know it is around me), for others it's the hardware (same diff)...but unlike in decades past...IT AIN"T THE LEGACY APPS!!....no sir, no ma'am, no way...nowadays we can put just about any bit of data just about anywhere and make it slice, dice and chop itself!!...in that sense, the magics back, except now we are a bit more pragmatic...why run the app here, there or anywhere?...same as before in most cases, security, convenience, necessity...but now it seems there is a bit of a "cause I can attitude"...heck, texting behind the wheel is now more notable than a lot of other things!!...please don't do that...scream for a voice enabled texting app instead!!
The purpose of todays post is to make sure I get two links down..(so I can refer others here and know they will find them!)
