Glocalization means 'think globally and act locally'. I found the term while I'm reading The Next Global Stage ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/013147944X/103-7684902-4127025?v=glance&n=283155 ) by Kenichi Ohmae. I think it is a good book. The author have a strong technical background and write a book about business and he always emphasize on technology and how the technology itself impact the globalization, where there are no borders between every nations and continents. The author invite the readers to change their mind in the business perspective. Yes, it is a business book that I'm feel comfortable to read as a technical person, because the content in the book reflect what happen in our daily activities. It affect my salary, my opportunities in this industries, my life, and it effect all other people around the world. In the early chapter he provide a sneak preview of the world is his view, although its hard for me to imagine the location and the actual view of those location such as Yellow Sea in china. I need to look at the globe while reading this book. How this effect me a software developer? It is good that my country, Malaysia has open its own global center for ICT in known as Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) and provide more career opportunities to the local developers. Currently there are more than a thousand foreign company operate their IT operation center in Malaysia. Although there are sitll lack of technical resources here, the infrastructure and political stability has attracted the foreign organization to operate their IT center here. English is still the standard communcation language used by most of the organizations here as well as Bahasa Malaysia. Its not hard for the software company to market their software here as the majority of the citizen can understand English. OK, enough about glocalization, I just love the Kenichi Ohmae's ideas. But I also could not stop myself from exploring the new VS2005. With the new control introduced, damn, I just realized it exist in VS2005 toolbox. The multiview provide an easy way to switch between different view of page. It is still in one page, but different view, like what the Panel can do previously.
