......being born and bought up in metro like Delhi, where everyone's concerned with their own interest, and nobody is bothered about the other guy,....yes a society still exits there but merely to exchange gifts in diwali and drink in holi!

....waiting for my school bus at bus stop, with other kids and their parents, and uncle X comes with his kid, and my dad said...."beta uncle ko namaste karo!"(say hello to uncle), .....me being a curious creature always, thought why my dad always insists to say "Hello" to that uncle!.....as the things started passing by......I started greeting uncle and afterwards, get engaged with his son talking stuff like cartoon, movies and games.......while my dad and uncle get into their kind of talks....don't remember exactly what they used to coz I was least concerned about their stuff!

....few year down the line we went to our village, where my grandparents stay. I was always fascinated about the things in village like the water-well, the huts and mud houses, cows, buffalos and their calves, and other nitty gitty things I've heard from my mother's long lasting/never ending village sagas! The village added an additional level of curiosity when, I was commanded by my grand-pa to touch the feet of a person, that person was my grand-pa's friend and a Brahmin, and the same question popped out of my curious mind,.....why?

....I tried to find out why we are forced to do that exercise, and at that point in time just got one answer that just because they are elders we should!! .....even though not with the excuses/reasons given to me.....I followed the pattern blindly.....as most of us do!

....In my collage days, I met two guys from Bihar, and we later became good friends, I used to go to their places for study or other reasons like, fixing up their computers!(....yep that was my part time job during my collage day...;). During the visits to their place I found out that these guys do lot's of feet touching exercise in their normal course of life, whenever somebody comes to their house.....and the same old curios million dollar question!!! WHY!!!

.....this time I was a bit matured and tried to infer why? why is it necessary to say namaskaar to our guests/uncles/aunts? why it's necessary to touch our elder's feet? or specially on occasions like festivals or exams? and finally got the answer that ..... it's not merely a ritual but it's a way to show your affection towards them! It's a way of getting their blessings which will never come out directly in front of you! On the other way round, you show your respect towards that comes from inside.

....and after this enlightenment I was never shy of touching my elder's feet or saying "Namaskaar" to them....and that voice always comes from the depth of my heart!

Santulan - Pashanshala - Mithari mining area visit

....and suddenly everyone in the class stood up, they started enchanting poems in marathi, we felt honored and kept our eyes on those innocent faces, and tried to figure out what's the context of that poem!

Afterwards, the teacher told us that they narrated ten poems in a row, amazing, isn't it!!

Yep, that was one of the scenes happened in our second visit to Santulan's Mithari mining area visit! No wonder those kids are as smart as ours, the only difference is that they don't have the privileges like our kids! We spend thousands of rupees in our kids education, this fee........that fee..........this function..........that function...and other blah blah activities which add no relief to parents pocket, and little or no value to our kids learning! Apart from that our kids have the most important thing, and that's parental care, guidance and moral support from us, whereas, the kids of mining workers has none of them! Their parents work in mines for the whole day, get back in evening, women prepare food, while most men have drinks, have their dinner and sleep to get back to their work next day!

I don't think that none of them wants that their kid to work in the mines as they do, but because of their ignorance and financial weakness, they found themselves helpless! At the most a mining worker thinks is to make his kid, a Truck Driver, who can drive those trucks full of stones, used in construction of hoses and buildings!

In the name of education they don't have a single penny to spend on their's kids future! and schools are distant dreams in these areas. As most of the mining sites are out of town and there are hardly any civilization nearby!

As they say, "... everything comes with a cost!", the cost of development is paid by the lives of those people who work in mines, construction and other hazardous industries.

....but why I'm describing all this? What's the point here?

....the only point of the above storytelling is that when you see the reality like that, you feel fortunate enough that, you get so much that might be a dream for someone, and even after that we never stop crying foul!!

I'm not a preacher but yes I do feel that people like us who are able, can create a platform for the under-privileged in our society! People like us can help/support/facilitate things for the needy people, who work much harder then us and get much lesser than us! Their work is as important as ours, and above all, they waste no time in those meeting rooms!

.....same day one of the teacher at Santulan's Pashanshala at Mithari told us that everyday they walk eight kilometers from a nearby village to teach these kids and work 9AM to 5 PM, six days a week!! Hats off to their spirits, of teaching these kids by bearing so much of pain!

....though we were spell bound again this time by these scenes and thought, but the only difference I felt this time is a inner happiness that "Yes, I'm doing something for them!", and we really felt proud of it!

Next visit will come with more such experiences! whatever it is but I'm enjoying the wave of transformation within!

It was my 26th , but arithmetically, it was my 8th and I enjoyed it like a 8 year kid!

Though this was my first BDay with out my family, but I've got whole new world with family of families, and I'm a proud member of it! I've got a new dimension of life, and I've became a better person in course!

I'm evolving and enjoying the course of evolution!!

Taare Zameen Par

Last week we(Mobsters + others) went for the movie "Taare Zammen Par". Being a Aamir Khan movie, first week is ought to be house-full, so we decided to go on a week day(after office obviously!).

For few it was an effortless thing, except they need to nod for the show timings, for others like me, Kirti and Rohit it was more of micro management stuff! Starting from show timings to booking of tickets!

Pune has got few multiplexes in comparison to Delhi NCR, where you can easily book tickets online, there's no as such facility of online ticket booking and phone booking! We tried E-Square but to book tickets there we need to go through Ticket Points; these ticket points can book tickets of various theaters! but, we need to go to these ticket points to book and take ticket point receipts; these receipts are to be shown at respective theater and get ticket for the booked show!

We tried to call the ticket point but nobody picked the phone, after several attempts somebody picked up the phone and we queried for 7:45pm show @ E-Square, but unfortunately we didn't go the tickets, I entered into argument with the ticket guy(just because I joked "what type of Ticket point are you guys?"), finally I admitted my mistake and we tried another alternative i.e; Adlabs Chincwad! 7:45pm show!! but hurry up, we need to go to the nearest ticket point to get the tickets booked!!

Me and Rohit left office to pick the tickets and others should reach Adlabs Chinchwad directly!!

Finally, we got the tickets, now rush to Adlabs, so we(me, Rohit P, Kirti Khare and Rohit S) proceeded towards our final destination!!

7pm on dot and we are here! First impression of the Adlabs Chinchwad, and it's vicinity is good! just like another Gurgaon Mall, stood in the midst of a upcoming city! We called others and finally bus wala gang arrived!

Eating time.......let's have something before the show starts!.. so we approached Mc Dees! Everyone ordered their meals and hey ........it's Bejoy....seen with a unkown face!!(must be dating ;), stutup! she's his wife! he he!!

And finally we are through with our meals, of course Bejoy introduced her with the Gang ;)

Next thing in agenda, the movie so we approached the entry gate! I put my drink(coke) in the stuff counter as I was not able to finish it and didn't wanted to waste it!

Hey....that's Aishwary's poster.......let's have a pic!........Kirti joined me and we got this:

"....it's not allowed Sir!......." a voice came from behind, we smiled and said an innocent "Sorry!", but we have already got the pic ;)

Finally, we in the movie hall and I don't know what happened next, as I was fully involved in the movie! It's an awesome movie about the childhood which anyone can relate the phases of life and peer pressures we have to go through to archive something! It's a story about a child who is not able to read and write but is talented in other terms, painting is one of them! He faces lot's of pressure from family and friends, finally lands up into a boarding school, where the situation becomes worst! The child goes into trauma of being departed from family!

Finally a guy comes in and that's Ram Shankar Nikumbh!! hey ............everyone "Ram Shankar"......ya I know his first and middle name are that of mine ;)

The movie is an emotional roller-coaster and one of the best movies I've ever seen!!

Few of us wept, cried and found our eyes wet, even after movie!!

Songs are good as well, as lyrics were quite soulful, written by Prasoon Joshi!

I personally liked two songs : "Maa" and "Kholo Kholo"!!

And yups..............the movie is over guys!

All of us re-assembled again and clicked as per our promise ;)

....and that's it!

Everyone left!........ I grouped up with Kirti and Mr & Mrs Jekkin! called Tarang(my roomie) to pick me up from Aundh! We(me and Kirti) got down at Parihar Chowk(outside Kirti's house), after a while Kirti left and I waited for Tarang and finally the dude arrived and I reached home @ 11:45 pm!

It was a hectic day ...........but I enjoyed it!!

Internet @ home

After a week long waiting finally, we(me & my roomies) have got Internet connection through Reliance Broadnet. We have got 999 Planwith 300 Kbps speed, unlimited download limits @ Rs. 999. I think there's a value for money proposition is there, and my first impression with the speed is good as well :)

Now I'll get more time to discover new things on net, download more movies and songs, and more blogging indeed!!

Stupidity rocks @ times - part 1

Hmmmm.... now thats a different title atleast for me, you will find out why................. ;)

I went to my "home sweet home", Delhi for Diwali on 2nd November and it was rocking Diwali for me. I took four days leave from 5th - 8th November 2007. A day before I was excited about my trip and went to J.M Road to buy a travel bag with Prashant(my colleague). Pune is a bit costly place to live in, and you can expect same for the travelbag, the bag which you can get in around Rs.250 in Delhi it comes around Rs.600 in Pune ! huh!

In the mean time I got my friend, Abhishek's call and we met near CrossWord, afterwards Prashant left and we went to Cafe Coffee Day (CCD), and the stupidity starts here........, after giving an order of Leamon Ice tea and Hot Chocolate Brownie, we sat and discussed things of past, but wait..........hey dude that's you bike!.....................next scene, Abhishek running after the toe vehicle, which lifted his bike. He came back and we finished our eatables and went to Modern Police Station, bribed Rs.300 to get the bike back!............. if we had parked our bike in parking, which was not even 100 meters, we might have saved those bucks :(.

We left to my place as Abhishek has to drop me. After reaching at my place our plans changed and we are in a party mood again, let's gooooooo.! Tarang joined us and we went to Rajwada, stared a few girl, sipped our drinks, Tarang - Budwiser, Abhishek - Wine, Me - Fresh Lime Soda Mixed.......... and that night we got a bill of Rs.970..........ofcourse paid by me, otherwise who cares about bill ;)

Afterwards, we had our Pan, and Abhishek left, and we (me and Tarang) came back to our place, by the way, Tarang is my room-mate!

The only thing I learned that night is that don't think things are dearer or cheap, took them! as a bag which might have cost me Rs.600, I paid Rs. 970 + 300 + 30 = Rs. 1300 ( and I'm still without a travel bag!).

On the same night I requested Adhikansh(another roomie of mine) for his travel bag, and got it!

Huh............. finally I've a travelbag with me! along with my stupidity ;)

Lohgad Trip!

Yupee! Another trip in merely five day gap but spirits are high as it was for Sinhgad trip, and people stated organising, and collecting information about our destination - Lohgad! For me as usual trip starts a day before, so I asked my pickup point to be Pashan, Sus Road, but it didn't worked and again I've to reach Rohit's place. I left office on time and reached my place at around 6:45 pm and next task in the list is reaching Rohit's place!! so I chaned my T-shirt and pick few bare minimal things required for the trip and left my place at around 7:10 pm.

This time I decided to change my route and the strategy is to reach E-Square and take a shared auto from there to reach Jagtap Dairy ( there's not Dairy I found over there ;), so I rushed to Sus Road, Sai Chowk bus stop and seen Channa - Namkeen thela nearby, I noticed that the boy selling the stuff is the same guy who used to sell Bhutta(Corn) rosted, hey I knew this guy, let take some timepass stuff and ask about the next bus. Next scene, I'm taking channa-namkin combo with this guys, I recalled his name but as usual, unable to do so, I asked his name and he told with a smile "Bijender" then asked Bijender about the next bus arrival, he told that it will come in next 15 minutes, so standing on the bus stop and thinking / staring people who pass by me ;). Finally a white color Indica stoped a few meters near the bus stop and junta rushed to catch that, me being a part of junta also queried "E-Square jaayegi ?" (are you heading towards E-Square?).

The dirver nodded his head by saying "baith jaao" (come join in), usually these taxi's are Call Center/IT company cabs who are either on their way to pickup employees or after dropping all of them, take junta from bus stops and drop in their way if it falls in between! So now I'm in the cab with other 4 guys, 1 driver, 3 marathi guys(they were chatting in Marathi) and lastly the 8th wonder of this world me ;). After arriving at E-Square, I gave a Rs. 10 note to the driver and asked "theek hai ?" (is it ok?) he nodded and I left the cab, crossed the road and now I'm at E-Square bus stop!, by the way if I would have taken a auto-rickshwa from Sus Road it would have charged me somewhere around 50 bucks(so I saved 40 bucks!)

At E-Square bus stop there were a few collage students, got nostalgic about our collage days, when we used to wait for that Route No. 473/460 at Madan Pur Khadar(somewhere near Sarita Vihar, Delhi), after our collage or after bunking ;). After few buses came in I've no idea which one to catch, so I called Rohit and he told me to take a shared auto and ask for "JagTap Dairy", "ussse JagTaap Dairy poonchna", I nodded and after waiting for few minutes, a shared auto stopped near the bus stop I rushed and asked the driver, who replied positively and I jumped in the back seat, now something about these
"shared-autos":- these are the vehicle's from some other unkown plant where there's no rules on pollution emissions, they set exemplary for space-utilization, capacty planning and operational effeciency!.

After analyzing all these management fundas on a shared-auto I realised this is a great evening, with full moon, cool breeze and my head outside the shared auto and rest of the body inside it! I started enjoy my shared-auto trip by somtimes watching the moon, and rest of the time staring the gals passing in cars and pedestrians ;), after travelling for few minutes I again realized that the auto is heading on a wrong way, I jumped out of the auto after paying the fare, the place I was in was KaleWadi Fata (Ya I know there a weared names here), Kirti's home is nearby so I called her up to meet as well as Rohit for pickup.

After some time Kirti came, we chit-chatted for a while and Rohit joined in, after having some cold-drinks we(me and Rohit) left to his place. He dropped to me on a local parantha wala dhaba, and left to pickup others, Subham and Anish. After 15-20 minutes they came and after having few parantha's as dinner we left to Rohit's place. After watching a B-Grade movie "Hydrabadi Nawab", I slept at 1:15 am.

<tring><tring>My phone rings, it was Kirti's wakeup call, I thanked her and got ready for the trip. Rohit and I left his place at around 4:30 am, this time Anish was with us to drop us at Kirti's place. This time there were no stry dogs, fuel was full in bike's tank and we taken a path which we were confident. We reached Anmol Residency at around 4:45am and waited for some time till the cab comes, Kirti joined us as well.

Finally the cab arrived, Bhavik, Sarthak, and Kirti(Kamtikar) were already there, so we hopped into the cab and headed towards Preeti, Pavan and ShriRam's pickup point.........hmmmmm I forgot to mention this time our last trip's dropout Minakshi was also joined us! We picked up rest of the three and the cab at this point in time is almost packed!!

We started our trip by simple "Hi" to everyone and introducing ourselves, and the chit-chat started in the cab! Next big thing everyone was talking about was "Where's Prashant?" , this time Prasant joined us but he was coming on his own bike with his friend Sandeep. We met Prashant at a predetermined stop and afterwards proceeded but..........wait there's some shuffling, Sandeep hopped into the cab and Pavan joined prashant as pillion, as he know the way to Lohgad! so the finally we are heading towards our destination - Lohgad.

In between, we discussed films, trips and other experiences in cab, I don't know how it started but at a point in time everyone started giving nick names to other guy/gal. I was named Pomeranian Veeru - sholey wala Veeru guys!, Kirti(Kamtikar) is Pomeranian Basanti, Shriram is Gabbar (don't know why he's not Pomeranian Gabbar anyways!), Kirti Khare (Mausi), Bhavik (Jai) and Sarthak (Thakur : though with hands ;).

We stopped somewhere on highway to have our morning tea, and afterwards started heading towards Lohgad..... someone realised that we are heading towards a wrong direction, we asked a person on the highway and he told us to take a U-Turn and go back 15 Kms, this is S***T! Few of us got frustrated and started bullying the driver and rest tried to calm them, finally we got the right way and reached Lohgad at around 7:15 am.

The sun was shining quite brighter now but because of the cool breeze, there was a relief to us. We started trekking but wait stairs! .................what the hell! are we going to take stairs on trekking!, ........a small boy guided us to right path towards Lohgad fort, after thanking him we started our trek. Frankly speaking there was now as such trek here, simple path was there, and our mob started walking uphill.

There are different categories of people I found out whenever we go on a outing:

Those who love the scenic beauty and enjoy it.
Those who are there only to have few good pics and are always ready in a pose to be clicked.
Those who are always comparing & complaining about the things and finally,
Those woh don't know why they were there!

I fall in the first one and partially in the second one as well. I took few good pics, played few pranks and giggled with other trippers. We took few breaks and had lemonade in our way, and finally we reached at the peak.

The fort is quite old and a bit haunted, though it seems more like a fort gate to me :P. We had some breakfast after reaching there some good photo session started.

Afterwards, we headed towards "Bicchu Point", but after walking down for some time we reached a dead-end, so we dropped our "Bicchu Point" idea and started to climb downwards.

We got back in our cab at around 1pm and headed towards Pune, in between we stopped at a local restro and had our lunch, everyone ordered "Peas Pulao and Lassi" except me, I ordered "Peas Pulao and Fresh Lime Soda", after finishing our lunch we are back in our cab and listened few bollywood dikchik-dikchik numbers.

I was a bit sad :( and just thaught that if somebody would take it otherwise, it's not done because of my pranks etc. Finally, same drop order and this time I was dropped at Aundh, had coconut water and headed towards an auto-rickshaw to reach my home here at Sus Road. After some struggle I finally got an auto and reached home!

It was a rocking trip not in terms of adventure but more in terms of knowing each others lighter side.

I'm sorry guy/gals if I unintentionally hurt you! and

Thanks for a rocking trip!
