Yesterday I landed in Pune, India, I'm gonna share my first hand experience with you guys!
Pune is a great place to be, everyone says that so what is the "great" factor:
- Climate : One thing I realized in a few minutes after landing @ Pune's airport, temperature was 33o C, and just after leaving airport mild shower started, and again after few minutes, cool breeze started blowing(which direction... forgot!) and it was a pleasent evening.
- Happening Crowd : Pune's junta is quite young and happening coz of so many Engineering, Medical and Management collages in and around. I've seen a few pretty girls @ airport with some medical books :P.
- Scenic Beauty : When you come from a concrete jungle called "Delhi / NCR", you'll definetely love those green lashes, hill and mountains in and around Pune.
- Pollution : Pollution levels are quite low(thou I've no stats to support that :D ) in comparison with other metros.
Few things that dilute that "great" factor are:
- Infrastructure : Pune's infrastructure is far below the levels of "Delhi/NCR". Most of the road have got pits and bad street lighting.
- Commuting : Commuting in Pune is expensive affair, that damm taxi driver charged Rs. 450 to take me to Pausan, Sus Road, it's about 25 K.M from airport, infact today morning I took an auto to reach to Wipro Campus in Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, and that guy charged Rs. 100 for merely a distance of 10 K.M.
Rest of the things are yet to be experienced/explored...... so stay tuned!
