Visual Studio.NET 2005 Professional unknown alien character

It was merely a conincidence when some how an alien symbol in my Visual Studio.NET 2005 Professional. This alien character looks similar to a backslash(\) but is bigger than a back slash! My CTO (Utkarsh) also discovered this symbol in his Visual Studio.NET 2005 Team Suite.

I tried to open and close new files in the editor but the symbol was still there!

So, enjoy the joyride of this alien symbol.............., and here it goes!

Looks like the "alien character" is at the same position on the screen each time. Is it possible that your monitor has a scratch?
