Scary Ruling for Computer Professionals

Wow, this could have big implications.  I guess I'd better get a bigger hard drive because potentially, I could be sued just for cleaning out my computer before I leave a job.

Every job I've left I've cleaned up the hard drive to remove extra garbage that wasn't useful, but if someone determined that I did it to hide information, I'm in trouble.

Of course, I wasn't using a secure delete utility, but what if securely deleting stuff was the policy of the company?

It's not going to be long before we have to have liability insurance, just like doctors!  I should have become a lawyer--seems like there's plenty of work for them. . .

I can put up with a certain level of legal nonsense like this, just as long as it's not those big Telcos trying to rob us of Net Neutrality. If they get their way then it will be a REALLY scary day for all of us. With the Dems back in control there's far less risk at the moment.
