So I need a laptop for my new company (and before you ask, I really do NEED a laptop), and having purchased stuff from Dell before, I've been very happy.
I jump online and configure the system that I'll need and place the order, knowing that I probably should have called in to order. Why should I have called in?
I've found that if you talk to a sales person at Dell, you can usually get stuff for cheaper than ordering from their website.
Luckily for me, I used a debit card that the order failed because of my daily spending limits. Rather than try and get my bank to allow it, I called up a sales rep, gave him the order number, and he configured a new system to match and was $91 cheaper than the web order! He also canceled the old order and made sure I'd get the laptop by the 28th.
I wonder why they have this phenomenon. Is it just an update lag on their website? Whatever it is, I'm happy that I had to call.
