Speaking of software that passed the seven day test, here's something that didn't. I was playing with Windows Movie Maker to cut together some home video and was having issues with the app suddenly crashing.
I looked around and remembered that I had installed some AVI codecs and IFOEdit a few days ago. Removing the codecs didn't do the trick, but as soon as IFOEdit was uninstalled, Movie Maker was stable as a rock. From there I was easily able to cut together the video, add some music and I'm good to go. I'm really impressed so far.
So there you go, just in case you're having the same problems with Movie Maker crashing.
