This was a really fun day. I made it to the camp with plenty of time to spare and got to meet up with a few people I only know from online. I met Jason and Rory in person at last, very nice guys and a few other people that I don't remember right now.

The first session of the day for me was “Shades of Indigo” presented by Ted Neward. A great introduction to Indigo. I've been living in a COM+ world for a while now so I'm really looking forward to Indigo.

The next session I caught was “.NET Compact Framework v1.0 Tips & Tricks” by Ed Kaim. I don't have lots of hands on experience with the compact framework (yet) but it's something that I really want to get into, so this session was a really good way to learn more about it.

I went to lunch with a bunch of guys including Jason, Rory, Rick and George. It was fun although a little rushed since we only had an hour and a half, and by the time we got organized and to the restaurant almost half the time was gone. I would have liked to have more time to chat with everyone. Next time I guess.

In the afternoon I caught the “Some Assembly Required” by Scott Hanselman. This was more of a hobbyist session but there were some neat things that Scott went over such as GPS that I'm interested in as well. Unfortunately there was no GPS reception in the auditorium but we got the gist of the talk.

Next up was "Garbage Collection, IDisposable, and You" by Chris Tavares (can't find a link). This was a really good in depth presentation on the GC and how it really works and all the possible pitfalls involved. Excellent session.

The last session of the day was another mobile session entitled ".NET Compact Framework v2.0" and presented by Woody Pewitt. For a while there I was the only person besides Woody in the auditorium, but when the session started there were a whopping three people in the audience. This is not to say that the session was bad or anything, just that it was then end of a long day and it was very sunny and warm out so I'm sure allot of people took off early. The presentation was really good though, we got a good demonstration of the capabilities of v2.0 of the Compact Framework.

After that I went back to the hotel and crashed. Erika had been walking around downtown all day and we were both not feeling so well so we didn't end up making it to the nerd crawl that night. It's too bad because I would have liked to hand out with the rest of the attendees a bit more. Again, next time I guess.
