I have been having difficulty opening messages. The most irritating problem is I can't send any email after posting "sending" for the longest time --- it will come back with a message saying "contains NO DATA"

I am having serious problems in the last day. I am unable to send emails from my Gmail account using Outlook. I either get a message that it is unable to connect to the outgoing server or a message that says Unknown Error 0X800C8105.

Do you know how to fix this? Is it a problem with Gmail?

Yes, the problems appear to be an issue on Google's end of things. I'm sure they're always tweaking the system so we're experiencing outages at times. It doesn't usually last more than an hour or so.

I haven't been able to log on for the entire day. I get an error that it can't find the page and that I should check the location and try again. Gmail notifier works on and off for me. The most bizarre thing is that my friend can log in to my account from another location... yet, I still cannot.

I was able to get back into my account after 9 hours. I can send and receive without any problems now.

Of course, while we're going crazy locked out of our e-mail, we want to do something, but I don't think there is anything we can do. They know it's down and are probably doing maintenance, so writing them doesn't help.

*sigh*

If this happens too often, I'm gonna have to go back to my old address. I wish they'd hurry up and finish beta.... I really love the way Gmail works.

Hmm...not that I'm backing Google, because Gmail HAS been acting up lately, but it's not like Gmail will magically work just because it's not in beta...that's why they're still in beta---because it's buggy. Especially with everyone giving out 50 email addresses.

Search at your computer for a files Name "hosts" you may find one or two in different location, ?probably under your windows directory. Right click on "hosts" file and open with notepad. Press ?Control+F to Find/Search for "gmail" or "google.com". Delete whatever entries you see there and ?make sure that you remove spaces between any two lines. (if you don't care! just delete the whole ?contains of this file) and save it. repeat this step for the next "hosts" file you may find. close and ?save the changes. As a further precaution, right click on hosts, go to properties. Way down, under ?attributes, tick "read Only".?

Open IE - under tools, internet options, go to the privacy tab. In Web sites, click edit. Under ?managed web sites, check to see if google/gmail is entered. Select that and remove it from the panel ?on the right.?

Im going nuts I can access Gmail from work, if I am using Mozilla on My linux machine I have no problems but as soon as I attempt it using My windows XP machine I either get a cannot find page error in IE or just a blank page in Mozilla!

Since 9/14/2005 i was able to enter in my gmail account. After that day when i try to log in (always from my computer) it gets stuck in a white screen with the word "downloading" and after that my all internet explorer is not responding!!!! Nasos,

I had this issue with the Gmail notifier. I had to log in using the notifier and then log out of Gmail. After that I was ok.

If you aren't using the notifier, then... Dunno. I guess you can try and install it and log in that way.

Overall I have found that Gmail is not too happy if you don't log out before closing the browser. Hope that helps.

I get stuck on the loading page too. It's rather annoying because I can try and try but it still says 'Loading...' then at the bottom of my browser it has 'Done' like it's finished loading the page. It's weird and annoying.

I've been getting the cross your fingers error for two weeks now. I contacted gmail support and they twice told me that the issue was resolved, but nothing. I strongly discourage anyone from having gmail as the primary email as I had it.

I would also not recommend using Gmail as your one and only source of email especially for anything which may be time critical.

Hi all.

It seems that most of the issues being reported lately are either with the system being unavailable or with an actual error message.

If the system appears unavailable, it usually
comes back within an hour, so I guess it's just wait and try again later...

If you're getting an error message like the "Oops.." error or the "Waiting" message which does not go away, I'd suggest trying the Gmail troubleshooting list here:

gmail.google.com/support/bin/topic.py?topic=133

Most of the solutions are along the lines of clear your cache a few times and try again.

I had the exact same problem, what I did was set up Outlook with the POP and SMTP settings , logged in and now I am able to access GMAIL via POP and the WEB based.

Gmail seems to be giving 'Cannot Find Server' errors in Internet Exploder and 'the document contains no data' errors for Firefox users.

I would have thought it was a DoS attack on them, but maybe they're tweaking again.

I try another account on the same computer and it's working correctly.
I've try to contact whit support but they send the default mail.
I think if an account is working in a computer and another is not, than the computer is ok.

Have you tried clearing your browser's cache? In Internet Explorer you do this by going to Tools | Internet Options and clicking on both the Delete Files and Delete Settings buttons.

This usually resolves this type of issue.

One of my friend sad:
-Try to download yours emails in your computer with Outlook or OutlookExpress. If it's working don't panik it will be good. Yust wait.
I'd follow his advice. I wait and today it's worked.

This is what fixed my issue; I should also state I'm using IE 7.2. beta

Log out of your Gmail account, and close all other open browser windows.
*Click the 'Tools' menu at the top of your browser, and select 'Internet Options.'
*Click the 'General' tab at the top of the dialogue box.
*Click 'Delete Files' under 'Temporary Internet files.'
*Select 'Delete all offline content' by checking the box.
*Click 'OK.'

Restart the browser then retry.

Keith's solution seems to be what works for most people. What do you mean by freezes? Does the browser freeze or is it just Gmail?

If it's the browser locking up, try viewing a different email to see if that makes a difference. If it's Gmail locking up on you try again in a little while. Sometimes there are usage problems as well.

I agree with Wollop, that link surely works. It seems that google is trying to put together some modification in their login page which runs a java script, and that script is causing Internet Explorer to close down. The link mentioned by Wollop works, becuase if you see the status bar during login, it would show u a string "=JS?ver=XXXXXX" which is different then the string which i saw when i tried signing in via www.google.com

I have the same problem, I've been trying to log onto my Gmail for two days now with three different computers at different places and either the page after loading remains blank, or it opens the inbox overview page, but then goes blank again if I attempt any command... One day my Bell Sypatico icon disapeared off my screen and I was told that my internet expired. Then, NetZero showed up on my desktop. I just happend to be talking about it anyway, and decided to download. Well, I have the account and I can get on line. I can get yahoo, but i am locked out of gmail. I t has been acting up and I thought maybe Yahoo was the culprit. Then I signed on to MSN and now I am here. Why can I not open up gmail from Internet explorer. It says I am not connected. But I am. For the past week, I have been UNABLE to log into my G-mail, using my User Name and Password. A message drops down saying I am NOT connected to the internet but the Quest Modem shows all the internet and ethernet are on, as the Green Lights aew on for Power, DSL, Internet and Ethernet.

Windows comes up and says they can't open the Web Page and there is a box to click to Fix. When I click on that, it tells me there is connectivity. What is going on?

Not sure if you have repaired your problem yet but, I had a similar problem that I worked on for 2 days. I download files off the internet like crazy and suddenly I couldn't get past my google homepage. I tried both IE 7 and Firefox. I could look at all the pages in google like images, video, mail... but could not search or login to anything. AVG virus scan picks up nothing, Uniblue scans pick up nothing. So... I went to start/run/type msconfig. I looked in my startup items which I normally keep completely clear because of gaming and I found a file that was odd. The file on startup was mclwddjh.dll. This is an odd file name because it should not exist and especially in a startup location. I did a web search for this file and found nothing. Not even in the uniblue .dll file extensions search. So... I knew it shouldn't exist. I couldn't delete the file because it was in use and every time I tried disabling it on startup, it would turn back on. So... I went into C:windows/system32/ and found the mclwddjh.dll and renamed it with some numbers before and after like 0000mclwddjh1234.dll just to confuse the program. Restarted my computer and got a error that mclwddjh.dll could not be found. YAY! I was then able to remove the file from startup under msconfig and delete the file completely. The internet works perfectly now and no other issues are to be found.

So, if you see any odd named files in msconfig startup and they wont disable because all should... then follow my steps of searching for the extension to see if its good or bad... or exists at all. Then rename, restart, and delete that poop. Hope this helps you.

Holy Andre!

Everytime i login into gmail or orkut, after i click on 'signin' button, the page redirects a couple of times and becomes blank and my status bar reads 'Done'...

Guess many of ya'll have the same problem....

But logging into googlepages is just fine, but not uploading files....Uploading files through Core FTP[to a diff website..I do know that googlepages does not support FTP...] does not work either....

I have been writing files onto a CD and uploading files to my websites from a Cyber Cafe.
:(

And I don't think its a problem with the Google servers.....

I am able to login from my laptop but not from my desktop....[The same connection is shared]....

I've tried logging in with IE, Firefox, Opera, Safari but to no avail.....
Maybe its a problem from our side...

I'll try searching and if i find something useful will definetly keep yall posted....
If not......:(...will try every possible virus/spyware scans....

If that does not work either, will FORMAT my computer and then try logging in...

WILL DEFINETLY KEEP YA'LL POSTED....

Now will use my Ubuntu Live CD....

Okay!

Fixed...
Kinda....

The same fix may not work for ya'll.....
I uninstalled Firefox 3....
and restarted the my PC......
Then tried logging in usinf IE/Opera/Safari....
IT WORKED!!!!!!
IE took sometime but after a couple of seconds[4 to be precise] i hit 'Refresh' and it logged in in a flash....

I'm so happy!!!!!

P.S: I am not tryin to tell Firefox 3 sucks{actually i don have to.....} and am seriously not telling that it f**** up your internet experience....But just that uninstalling it worked for me......And any legal notices will not be entertained.. :P

My problem is that gmail worked fine last night, but this morning it gives me an object not found error and says that the URL "/mail/" is not found. What the ?????? I can't get any help from Google (I actually found a phone number and got a live person, but they don't do live email support) When I try to go the help page I get the same error. And when I try to log into gmail from the Google page, I get the same error. Google of course said it wasn't their fault as she could get to the support pages. I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.16. Please don't make me switch to IE!! Any other ideas. I really really need my email as I have sick relatives I need to keep in touch with.

I think gmail is having very big problems at the moment. My mails are deleted insantly with having no posibility of reading them.
For eg. In inbox there is 14 emails, I am checking one of them then there is written that it is deleted, and all those 13 mails are deleted too.

And whats more, I even can not get a good costumer support. FUC this.
