Erika and I enjoyed the Montreal Jazz Festival two nights ago, it was a blast. Although it was a cloudy evening it was not too cold and the rain that did fall was bearable.

We first checked out Aces of Dixieland, which was a good show. The music was great but the sound sucked, I guess it was the tiny amp and speaker that did it and it was hard to really hear all the instruments or understand the lyrics. The poor guy playing the banjo was really going at it but we could barely hear him and we were only 15 meters away from the stage. We took off after four or five songs when it began to rain a bit more, plus we were starving.

We had a bite to eat and got back just in time to check out the Yerba Buena show. Very fun time. The Latin inspired music had the whole crowd moving and cheering and the energy on stage was great. The hour long show flew by.

We may try to catch another show on the weekend, but there's other stuff going on, so we'll see....
